I was first introduced to David through Rawls Whittlesey at the Red Earth Acupuncture Clinic in Peachtree City. To keep a long story short, I ended up volunteering at the clinic a few hours a month last winter and got to know David, the Red Earth staff and also got to meet his family. One of the many reasons I love living in a small town is because you do get to know each others families, passions, favorite places to eat and then perhaps get a chance to meet in a cool spot and grab some fun photos. Don’t get me wrong, I loved taking the staff photos for Red Earth – we had a blast, but I am endeared to the family sessions most of all. ♥
Family photo sessions don’t often carry the best raps and tend to leave lingering impressions that don’t lend to wanting to do them again… However, when a little girl shows up in purple butterfly wings, special bracelets with a matching necklace, a big brother who can’t wait to get his photo with her and parents who welcome her freedom of expression – how can you not have the best photo session ever!?!! Those purple wings, her smile and imagination brought so much joy to this simple 30 minute session. We all loved watching her take flight, I just got to be the one holding the camera. She definitely left a lasting impression on me. Perhaps I will write a couple blogs this winter…
